Light is very significant to the success of any endeavor we embark upon in life. The prevalence of light is a determining factor for measuring process – if one is walking in the light, the chances of taking the wrong steps are slim.
John 8:12 – Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Lessons to draw from the text
As Jesus was passing by, He was the man that was born blind. Interestingly, the man’s case was pathetic enough to attract the attention of the Almighty God.
No matter how bad or ‘irredeemable’ your case may seem to be, God sees you, He has an eye on you….
…‘Master, who sinned….’
Sometimes, we tend to ask God irrelevant questions.
Many times, we are quick to attribute or trace every problem, challenge or tribulation to sin. The disciples thought it was possible for the blind man to have sinned before he was born.
Sometimes, God deliberately allows some persecutions and challenges to remain in our lives, so that His works will be made manifest in our lives.
…..while it is day…..
This implies that if we neglect our God-given opportunities for service in the kingdom of God, they may be lost forever. Grab every opportunity you have now! Maximize the moment…
He spat on the ground, made clay…..anointed the eyes of the blind man with clay…
The Lord uses different methods to heal different people; He is not limited to one particular method.

Normally, many people would look at how Jesus did this miracle and object, saying that it was offensive, inadequate, or even harmful to rub mud made with spit in a man’s eyes.

Likewise, many people feel that the gospel is offensive, in the sense that it offends man’s pride and human wisdom, but it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. (1 Corinthians 1:21)
Go, wash in the pool of Siloam
Responding in faith and total obedience to the commandments of God. Whatsoever He tells you to do, do it…

Experiencing Jesus authenticates our testimonies. When we share our testimonies as a result of an encounter with Jesus, people receive grace to believe in Christ (men are drawn to Him).
Sometimes, we never get to know who Jesus really is, except we forsake or let go of some associations. Friendliness with the world is enmity against God.

Through the encounter he had with Jesus, the healed man had an increasing knowledge of the Lord in the following order:-
A man called Jesus (John 9:11)
He is a prophet (John 9:17)
A man from God (John 9:33)
The Son of God, worthy of worship (John 9:38)
How can we experience the Light?
We must acknowledge that we are spiritually blind from birth
We must know that Jesus is the One that takes the initiative in healing us from blindness
We must respond in faith and total obedience to His commandments
Jesus commands us to be washed in the water of baptism
We must cut off associations that draw us away from His presence.
We must display loyalty to Jesus when we are persecuted, boldly and plainly testifying of His work in our lives and confounding others
Nobody knows the name of this man born blind. Jesus is the important One; we must ensure that the Lord alone gets the glory, while we remain anonymous
Benefit(s) of experiencing the Light
We pass from little knowledge to greater knowledge, and this brings us to greater worship and adoration of Christ
We enjoy His company/presence
We become a channel of blessing
We reflect or manifest His glory.
