A ROYAL DIADEM (A CROWN OF BEAUTY)
Isaiah 62:3; Proverbs 19:14
Diadem is an ornamental headband or crown, worn as a symbol of royalty. It signifies royal dignity or authority. The Bible declares that the wife of a noble character is a crown to her husband (Proverbs 12:4).
A virtuous woman is not only a crown of splendour to her husband, but also to the Lord.
Such a woman brings forth glory, honour and praise to the name of the Lord.
Any man who finds a wife (woman of noble character) finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord (Proverbs 18:22).
Briefly, we shall examine the qualities of a virtuous woman, as highlighted in Proverbs 31:10-31:
1. She is a jewel of inestimable value – (v 10).
2. She is trustworthy – (v 11).
3. She is a contributor (a partner in progress) – (v 12).
4. She is skilful, industrious and purpose-driven – (vs 13, 24).
5. She has foresight (plans ahead) – (v 14).
6. She meets the spiritual, emotional and intellectual needs of her home. She is quite multi-tasking – (v 15).
7. She invests into the future of her family through the Word of God and prayer – (vs 16, 21).
8. She turns the house to a home – God’s dwelling place, where kingdom ambassadors will be raised – (vs 16-17).
9. She is spiritually healthy and at alert (sensitivity) – (v 18).
10. She is compassionate, selfless and generous (vs 19-20).
11. She clothes herself with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God (v 22).
12. She plays a vital role in her husband’s success (behind every successful man, there stands an amazing woman) – (v 23).
13. She obtains the favour of God and walks on the path of wisdom and integrity – (vs 25-26).
14. She doesn’t have time for idle talks and mundane things, she is totally Kingdom-focused and service-oriented (v 27).
15. She is the praise of her household, an asset to the nation, an honour to God – (vs 28-31).
